Open any photograph full size. The reveals, the mitres, the grout joints and where the seam in the stone landed are what separate a fitted kitchen from an assembled one.
What separates a fitted kitchen from an assembled one
Anybody can hang a cabinet. In a Chicago building the wall is not plumb, the floor slopes an inch across the room and the ceiling sags in the middle, and a run of wall cabinets set level against that ceiling shows the difference along its whole length. The work is in the scribing, the fillers and the measuring that happens before anything is ordered.
The last five percent is what you live with every day. Drawers that close softly on a box that is genuinely square, a stone seam somewhere you never wipe, and a hood that actually moves the air outside the building.
The layout is settled on paper
Aisle widths, door swings, the run between sink and range, and whether two people can pass behind a pulled-out stool. All of it is drawn to scale before a single cabinet is ordered, because it is the only part you cannot change later.
The stone is templated on set cabinets
Never off a drawing. We walk the slab, decide where the seam falls, and confirm every cutout against the sink and the appliance that are actually going into it.
The hood goes outside
Sized to the cooking surface and ducted to a proper exterior cap on the shortest practical run. A recirculating hood returns the heat and the moisture to the room, which is why almost nobody runs one twice.
Small jobs are welcome
A countertop swap, a refaced set of doors, a dishwasher that will not sit flush. We quote the smaller jobs many remodelers pass over, and they get the same care as a full gut.
